My Person Derek found this. It is from a book. It seems obvious to me. We cats can already see things that you human people can’t. You people don’t have very good eyes. Maybe from reading too many books. I prefer to lie down flat on books. But maybe this will help you human people.
“A very elderly woman she was, frail as paper in the hospital bed. She seemed three-fourths detached from the world already. There is so much to delight us in this world of matter — to tire of it seems ungrateful to me, but she told me she’d had all the pain she could eat and would pass from this banquet to a better one.”
And:
The world of the spirit and the world of matter exist side by side, like two sides of a wall; the gods are not far away in some other space, but in this very one, continuously, just around some strange corner of perception. A presence as pervasive and invisible as sunlight on skin, as though one stood naked and blindfolded in an unimaginable noon.
We are all, every living one of us, doorways between the two realms, that of matter that gives us birth, and that of spirit into which we are born in death.

I am so sorry for your tremendous loss. Your tribute is beautiful. I know your hearts ache and I wish there was something I could do to help that. Lanty was a wonderful spirit who lives on in a world we have yet to know. We love you!

Derek,
My dog also “returned to the world of spirit” November 14, 2009. I say that it is graduation from her body.
I believe that she is still around me.
I sometimes have dream of her.
My mom said our pets are waiting for us under the rainbow and when we get there they found us and will be very very happy.
I’m sorry, Derek.
Say hello to Megan!

This doesn’t help the seemingly one-way relationship with the spirit world, darlings, but for company on the journey you have every member of the human race who has not rejected love. Bune
“For each ecstatic instant
We must an anguish pay.
In keen and quivering ratio
To the ecstasy.
For each beloved hour
Sharp pittances of years,
Bitter contested farthings
And coffers heaped with tears.” – Emily Dickinson
